A Very Short Story

They continued to drive through Texas. With the air conditioner broken they avoided thinking about the heat by singing along with the radio. The bank they had robbed was two hundred miles away, but Cindy and Biff, still couldn’t believe they had gotten away with it. It kept escaping their memory. For a moment, it was just another search for the next Dairy Queen, not for a way out of Texas, the heat and the lack of obtainable dreams.
An armadillo crossed the highway. He was not afraid.

Short but sadly sweet. Escape, wanted by the law, lonely and alone together. Nice!

I can't wait for part 2 of BAD BOYFRIEND.

And I'll second Peter N. We all need a little more Bad Boyfriend!

It's coming! I promise!

Actually, maybe there shouldn't be a second part to Bad Boyfriend. I probably wouldn't have thought though if I hadn't read this short story. Just my thought but I would definitely read any second part of it you would write :o)

Other than the fact that I would rather eat an armadillo than at a Dairy Queen... Biff the BAD Boyfriend? I think I have to email this to a friend who is in danger of getting a Biff in her life. She doesn't like Dairy Queen either.

I really like the way you paint pictures with words. And I loved Bad Boyfriend!

No, no, Biff is not the bad boyfriend. But I promise that I will finish that story... soon.
Biff was just an exercise to see if I could write a short story in 100 word or less.

I once went to Texas and was chased by an armadillo!
That was the scariest thing to ever happen to me!!! It was like being chased by a tiny, tiny dinosaur!!!!!

It has great rhythm and feel. Things that jarred me from the story were the characters names & the bank. I think you have a knack for this 100 word format. I'm in!

If only more people in the world were called Biff, the possibilities are endless with a name like that....
